A common brainstorming method has participants sitting around a conference table and quietly writing ideas on sticky notes. After a while the notes are collected and read out loud to everyone. They are then divided into categories and prioritised, typically in different locations on the conference room walls.

The Collaboratory app improves this process in three ways:

1. 

 

Notes can be typed on and sent in from a mobile device on the same Wi-Fi.

 

This is done either through the mobile app "Collaboratory Client" or using a web interface.

2.

 

Notes are arranged and categorised digitally, on a projector. In this way everyone in the room can read the text on each note, not just the person holding the note.

3. 

 

After the session is done the results are available in digital format and can be distributed immediately.

 

No-one has to stay behind and document the notes on the walls.
